38 New Affordable Housing Apartments for Veterans

Serving Local Veterans

Mid-Willamette Family Veterans Housing is building a new 38 Unit Apartment Complex to Serve Veteans Needing Permanent Housing.  Scheduled to open in 2027, these affordable apartments will provide a permanent home to Veterans who may not have one.

The Mid-Willamette Family YMCA Veterans Housing apartments will be open to Veterans who qualify at 60% average median income.  There is a similar apartment complex in Salem, which has won awards for its service to Veterans and the community.

How the Community Can Help Support the New YMCA Veterans Housing Project

While significant funding has been raised to construct the new Y Veteran Housing apartments, more money is needed to support staffing for the Y Veterans Housing Resource Center.  This Resource Center will be on-site to support the various needs of the Veteran residents.  This includes support for connection to community services supporting Veterans.  In addition, the support team will lead field trips, provide transportation to key meetings or doctor appointments, and offer peer support for basic personal needs.

The estimated annual staff support expense is roughly $275,000.  We are working to fund two years to provide stability in staffing and the services needed to the Vets who live there.

Support Our Veterans

While significant funding is being raised, we have more to do to meet our goals of having this amazing project be fully funded. The community can participate by making a contribution to the MID-WILLAMETTE FAMILY YMCA Veterans Housing campaign.

Here’s how you can join the campaign.

We will be creating a number of ways for community members who contribute to the campaign to be property recognized.

Our courtyard will have Honor Bricks where your name, or the name of someone you would like to dedicate the contribution to, will be seen for decades. $1000 each.

How the Community can Get Involved and Support financially

New Apartments will have a walkway laid with traditional bricks, each a commemoration of a Veteran deserving recognition. Purchase your brick today.

How You Can Create a Family Legacy

Purchase a Brick for $1000 and leave a lasting legacy for a Friend or Family Member who served in the Military. You can also simply buy a brick with your name to show your support for Veterans.

How it works

The new Y Veterans Housing apartment complex will have a walkway of dedicated bricks, each with a name and description on them. Each brick is $1000. You can buy as many bricks as you want. This walkway will be a dedicated area with special meaning and purpose. While you get to acknowledge a friend or family member, the Y Veterans Housing gets the benefit of your generosity to support wrap-around services for Veteran residents. It’s a win-win.
