38 New Affordable Apartments

Serving Local Veterans

MID-WILLAMETTE FAMILY YMCA is Building a New 38 Unit Apartment Complex to Serve Veterans Needing a Home. Scheduled to open in 2026, these affordable apartments will provide a permanent home to Veterans who may not have one.

Some Background on the Project

  • The 2024 Legislature provided $1 million dollars to the MID-WILLAMETTE FAMILY YMCA for predevelopment of this project.
  • We are seeking funds from the Oregon Housing and Community Services to fund a majority of the project
  • There will be 38 units of mostly one-bedroom units nicely appointed, unfurnished
  • The building will be fully handicap accessible, including an elevator
  • There will be 2-3 full time staff to help with wrap-around services
  • Every resident of the new facility will automatically get a free membership in the local YMCA
  • A similar project was recently built in Salem, residents have moved in and are thriving with field trips, support services, access to the Y for fitness and even job opportunities

We will also have a donor wall in or near the Community Room where plaques with five, four, three, two and one star can be purchased at different levels. You will be able to honor a Veteran in your family, a friend or someone else who has served his or her country.

There are five categories of giving

• $7,500 – 4 Star

How You Can Help

Support Our Veterans

While significant funding is being raised, we have more to do to meet our goals of having this amazing project be fully funded. The community can participate by making a contribution to the MID-WILLAMETTE FAMILY YMCA Veterans Housing campaign.

Our new non-profit is a 501 C3, so contributions are tax deductible.

Here’s how you can join the campaign.

We will be creating a number of ways for community members who contribute to the campaign to be property recognized.

Our courtyard will have Honor Bricks where your name, or the name of someone you would like to dedicate the contribution to, will be seen for decades. $1000 each.

We have naming rights available in the following categories:

  • Name the Building – $3,000,000
  • The Community Room – $300,000
  • The Courtyard – $250,000
  • The entry into each floor, there will be 3 – $150,000
